UPDATE: Minsk expects to get $1 bln loan from Russia in 2019

(Adds comments in last 2 paragraphs)

MINSK, Aug 15 (PRIME) -- Belarus and Russia are in constructive talks on a U.S. $1 billion credit to be disbursed in 2019, First Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Matyushevsky told reporters on Wednesday.

“Work (on taking out the Russian loan) is being held,” he said.

Matyushevsky said Belarus must pay $3.7 billion on its foreign debt in 2019. Paying half of the debt and refinancing another 50% would be “an ideal option,” he said.
